Designed channel restoration and water quality facilities and developed CAD construction plans. Performed hydrologic and hydraulic stormwater modeling. Estimated construction costs and wrote project manuals for the bid phase of municipal construction projects.

• Hydraulic design of 20'-diameter flood control tunnel on Waller Creek, including inlet and outlet structures, recirculation pumping and maintenance requirements, and construction costs
• Permanent erosion control design for urban creeks, using traditional and bioengineering methods, including concrete, stone, and gabion retaining walls, revegetation, soil retention matting, tree wells, and riprap
• Sand filtration pond design in Gillis Park, including analysis of existing storm sewer, hydraulics of splitter box structure and underdrain piping, and pollutant removal

Structural dynamics engineer, Hughes Aircraft Co., El Segundo, CA, 1990-93

Performed structural dynamic analysis of body-stabilized commercial satellites using finite element analysis. Simulated test, launch, and deployment loads, provided test support, and validated models. Developed rigid-body computer simulation of spacecraft landings. Assisted with LAN management and wrote animation and test level calculation software.

Designed cast, machined, and welded parts, for mechanical flight control, air conditioning, bleed air distribution, and de-icing systems for the C-17 transport.
